For the last several years I led a successful bipolar support group at the College of Charleston. I believe one of the primary reasons it was successful is that the participants were similar in age and stage of life. For this reason, I am now offering bipolar support groups at my private practice based on this criteria. Participants of these groups report that it is very helpful to talk to others who have this disorder and to get the education, monitoring, and latest information regarding bipolar disorder. The approach is positive, instructive, and confidential.
NEW! Subject to sufficient interested persons wishing to attend, a Mixed-Gender Mixed-Age Adult Bipolar Support Group is planned once again at my office suite on Anna Knapp for early 2010 and will meet every other week. Call or email me now for more information, or to reserve a place.
The Twenty Something Bipolar Support Group began in 2007 and was designed for those with bipolar disorder who are in their twenties having life issues that are unique to this age i.e., finishing college, school or job training, dating, individuation from family, etc. This is often a lively group which participants say is both educational, supportive, and fun. New dates will be planned for 2010 if numbers warrant. Email me now for more information about the 'Twenty Something' Group.
Meanwhile, I recommend that you consider the
